Brittany Girard
Riding Instructor

Brittany & Cruiser
Brittany Girard has been born and raised in Kitsap County with her array of animals. As a young child Brittany had always been an animal lover. Her mother noticed her daughters love for horses just like herself. At the age of four Brittany's mom started taking her to pony lessons. Brittany grew up as a member of a local 4-H club and a member of the FFA (Future Farmers of America) Program at North Kitsap High School. Brittany showed not only horses but rabbits, chickens, pigs, goats and cows. Brittany has also competed in local and state shows in Western Pleasure/Equitation, Hunt Seat, Trail, Showmanship and Gaming with her horses. Brittany now enjoys trail riding, rodeo events and penning/sorting. Brittany is also a local Thunderbird Cowgirl, carrying sponsor flags for the grand entry team and raising money for the cause at the Thunderbird Benefit Rodeo.

Brittany has attended many clinics/seminars and in 2007 Brittany did a six month Natural Horsemanship internship. Last year Brittany picked a yearling colt named Cussabuck from a cattle ranch in Loomis, WA to test her training techniques from start to finish with a basically untouched colt. For the last year Brittany has successfully halter broke, taught all lounging for respect and control exercises and round penning exercises. She also taught Cuss to wear a bridle and saddle as well as desensitized him to anything and everything. Brittany plans to start riding Cussabuck the first part of 2009 as he will be coming three years old.

Brittany is also a fulltime student at Olympic College working toward a degree in a health field. Brittany's goal is to someday have her own therapeutic riding program for disabled children.
